Week 5 Bible Reading

Wed.:Judges 7:1-25:Gideon and the Midianites: In what area of your life do you need to trust God more?

Wednesday:Judges 7:1-25- Today's Scripture is Judges 7:1-25. This passage talks about Gideon and the Midianites. To make a long story short, Gideon defeated the Midianites. Early in the morning, Gideon and his men camped out at the spring of Harod. The Midianite camp was near the hill of Moreh. The Lord told Gideon that he had too many men.The Lord told Gideon to tell his men that anyone who trembles with fear can turn back and leave Mount Gilead. So 22,000 men left while 10,000 remained. After that the Lord said again, you still have too many men.So the Lord told him to take his men out too the water and he will take over from there. So Gideon took the remaining men down too the water and the Lord said that if he says this one shall stay then they will stay. And if he says that if this one shall be sent away they shall leave. So the Lord told Gideon to seperate the men as to whom laps water from the river like a dog and who kneels to drink from the river. 300 drank from cupped hands lapping like dogs and the other 9,700 got down on their knees too drink. God said that the 300 that drank from their hands like dogs, keep them and send the rest on their way. The Lord said that he would save Mideon with those 300 men.
