  1. Mon. Acts 1:1-11 The Departure of Jesus: Today's Scripture is Acts 1:1-11. This passage talks about Jesus' departure and Luke writing another book. Luke's 1st book was about everything Jesus began to do and teach, until the day he was taken up into heaven. After his death, he showed up in many ways to prove that he was still alive. The apostles saw Jesus durong the forty days after he was risen from the dead. He spokee to them about the kingdom of God. He told them not to leave Jerusalem. He said to wait for the promise that he told them about. Then they were baptized by John the Baptist adn later by the Holy Spirit. Then Jesus was taken back into heaven.

When the day of Pentecost came, the people were that sounded like wind came from heaven and filled the house where they were sitting. They saw something like flames that were separated and stood over each person there. They were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and they began to speak in tongues by the power the Holy Spirit was giving them.

  3. Wed. Acts 21:1-17 Difficult Decisions: Today's Scripture is Acts 21:1-17. This passage talks difficult descisions and Paul going to Jerusalem. After thee people all said good-bye to the other people, they sailed to the island of Cos. The next day they reached Rhodes, and from there they went to Patara. They found a ship going to Phoenicia, so they went with them. They sailed near the island of Cyprus, seeing it was to the north, but they sailed to Syria. They stopped at Tyre because the ship needed to unload its cargo there. There they found some followers in Tyre and stayed with them for a week. Through the Holy Spirit they warned Paul not to go to Jerusalem. When theey finished, they left and continued the trip. All the followers, even the women and children, came outside the city with them. After that they all knelt on the beach and prayed, they said good-bye and got on the ship, and the followers went back home.
